Task: modernization of the dispatching infrastructure of the telecom operator of the global producer of natural gas

The Telecommunications division is a specialized communications network operator for a global natural gas producer, an operator of a Single top-level Departmental Data Network, a provider of secure Internet services, and an administrator of a central corporate email server. The company's primary network consists of 10 communication nodes and more than 500 km of fiber-optic communication lines.

The following tasks are solved daily in the dispatch centers and control points of the communication network:

• round-the-clock remote monitoring and configuration of SDH multiplexers through a management and monitoring system;
• operational monitoring of the state of the communication network elements and timely notification of emergency (emergency) situations to dispatching services;
• damage control on the backbone communication network;
• monitoring the condition of the equipment and carrying out preventive measures.

Prior to the modernization, some of the dispatcher workstations were equipped with monitors with expired service life and insufficient characteristics for long-term operation in multi-shift mode. The company needed monitors with high-quality color rendering, wide viewing angles (collaboration of several dispatchers behind one screen), as well as vision protection technologies to reduce fatigue during 12-hour shifts.

The Telecommunications Division's Competition committee selected the RDW 2401K monitors based on the following factors:

• the presence of a registry opinion of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation on compliance with import substitution requirements for purchases under 223-FZ, and the possibility of using it in the infrastructure of a global natural gas producer.
High image quality: An IPS matrix with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels (Full HD) provides stable color reproduction without distortion at all viewing angles (178 degrees horizontally and vertically). Eye comfort during long-term work: Flicker-Free technology and Low Blue Light mode minimize visual fatigue during long-term dispatching shifts.
• Wide viewing angles (178°/178°) Several specialists can simultaneously work with one screen, monitoring the state of the communication network, which is critically important in control centers.
Reliability and durability: a strong element base and proven components ensure stable operation around the clock. Ergonomics: screen tilt adjustment allows you to adjust the monitor position to the height and working position of the dispatcher (optional height adjustment and portrait mode). Versatility of connection: VGA, HDMI, DisplayPort video inputs ensure compatibility with existing dispatching workstations of various generations. Energy efficiency: Energy consumption is only 11.8 watts, which reduces operating costs with a large-scale equipment fleet.

The RDW 2401K monitors are installed in the primary communications network management center, in the control rooms of the Unified Departmental Top-level Data Transmission Network, as well as at the workplaces of specialists responsible for the top-level videoconferencing system and the corporate Internet center.

Result: provision of operational dispatch control of the communication network of the global natural gas producer

93 RDW 2401K monitors have been put into operation. The introduction of registry monitors allowed:

• to provide control centers with modern screens with an IPS matrix and viewing angles of 178 degrees, allowing several specialists to simultaneously monitor the state of the communication network;
• reduce the fatigue of dispatching personnel when working in night shifts and in conditions of high visual loads due to Flicker-Free and Low Blue Light technologies;
• improve the reliability of displaying telemetry information and data from SDH, TNMS-Core/CDM monitoring systems;
• replace imported end-of-life monitors with Russian-made registry equipment;
