RUSSIAN PC MANUFACTURER AND A NEW INITIATIVE OF THE MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE

If some controversial decision needs to be presented to the most respectable public, then it is best to do it in the interiors of natural beauty. And in a place that no one associates with titanic work. And with a non-titanic one, too.

The Russian computer manufacturer believes that this is the scheme chosen by the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the presentation of the updated concept of state policy in the field of electronic industry. No doubt, of course, they didn't do it on purpose. And everything will happen organically at the Russian Microelectronics Forum-2022, which will start at Rosa Khutor in early October. The newly minted strategy itself is aimed not only at achieving the shores of 2030 by Russian electronics, but also at longer-term prospects without specifying the planning horizon.

Did the Russian computer equipment manufacturer learn something new from the draft of this document for himself? Good question! Maybe for officials, the cornerstone problems of microelectronics have only now become obvious. But the domestic manufacturer of computer equipment has been struggling with this for a long time to no avail. The list, however, turned out to be too mournful. But, as they say, you can't throw the words out of the song! And in this song, it's about the technological lag behind the world level for about 15 years. And about the difficulties with mastering technical processes below 180 nm. This is at a time when our Asian partners are already producing 4-nanometer chips, and we will not break away from 65 nanometers in any way. There is also dependence on foreign technologies, production and software. And about the acute personnel shortage. And once again about the dependence, only now on especially pure materials and silicon. From the offensive words in the chorus, one Russian manufacturer of monoblocks understands how low the investment attractiveness of the industry is these days. And another Russian monitor manufacturer is aware of the sky-high cost of components that are produced in Russia.

The domestic manufacturer of computer equipment is again at the forefront. Where, as always, it will be: to increase (capacity), expand (research), restore (specialized industries) and heroically abandon (foreign architectures). 

The state, for its part, will support the Russian production of personal computers with simplified access to grants, subsidies and preferential loans.

The Russian computer manufacturer, like no one else in these troubled days, understands that right now the industry does not need a coherent strategy, but real emergency help! And we are not talking about a life-saving pill for the tongue, but about a whole complex of therapeutic measures that will be able to quickly return the Russian electronic industry to a full life. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, there are eight years left before the rebirth of Russian electronics. And if, according to the time frame, the domestic manufacturer of computer equipment is still somehow defined, then everything remains vague about providing the means of the new geopolitics.
